Interview with NYTIMES Best Selling Author, Jacquelyn Frank

Some of you who know me know I LOVE Jacquelyn Frank. I was lucky enough to get to read this novel, CURSED BY ICE through Net Galley and with a little bit of luck I was able to snag an interview. I hope you enjoy this question and answer. She's an amazing author and I just hope one day I can be as well known as her.

-- Ashley

INTERVIEW

1)      What made you start this new Immortal Brothers series and how many books do you think you will have in it?

JF: I was in the mood for something different. I wanted to change it up a little from the NIGHTWALKERS series, and this is what came to me. There’s going be 4 books in the series.

2)      Is there any chance we will see more of the Gods playing a bigger factor in all of these worlds? Not just the small roles we have seen thus far.

JF: The Gods generally play the same role as in the first book, but they figure more into the story in the last book.

3)      How did you come up with the different races that you portrayed inside the book? Was it easy or hard? Did you have a clear image of what you wanted or did it evolve as you wrote the stories out?

JF: It was pretty easy for me. It generally evolved as I wrote the story. I have no plans, it just generates itself in my mind as I write.

4)      Are you a plotter or pantser?

JF: I’m a pantser! I write things down as I go only for the sake of keeping track of what I’ve already written. My memory ain’t what it used to be!

5)      What inspired you to start this new series?
(same question as #1)

6)      The NIGHTWALKER series is amazing, I truly love it. I enjoyed the last two books that came out, FORGED and FORSAKEN, how did you come up with that in depth series?

JF: It’s the same as I said before—it just generates as I write. I don’t plan things out, I just regurgitate words!

7)      Was there ever a time when you didn’t think you wanted to continue in the fantasy/paranormal genre?

JF: No- paranormal and fantasy is my niche.

8)      Did you always want to be a writer? Was there someone who inspired you to pick up a pen and start creating worlds?

JF: I always wanted to be a writer—I started when I was 13 years old. The only people who inspired me were the authors I read every day.

9)      Will there be another NIGHTWALKER book?

JF: There’ll be one more, the last book. It’s called FORGIVEN.

10)   Is there anything you have in the way of advice for aspiring and up and coming authors?

JF: Just don’t give up! Keep trying. Take chances. If I had done those things, I would have been published a lot sooner than I was.

11)   What’s your favorite part of living in North Carolina?

JF: Beautiful mountains, beautiful weather…what’s not to love?

12)   I heard a rumor you have some ‘sexier’ writings out there, can you tell me about them?

JF: You might want to check out the books I write as “Jax.”

13)   I like to do a lightning round, so these are quick questions
a.       Light or Dark Dark
b.      Coke or Pepsi Pepsi
c.       Football or Baseball Baseball
d.      Pool or Beach Beach
e.      Winter or Summer Winter

In case you need reasons to love Chris Evans...

Those of you that have been with Ash and me for awhile know that I have a bit of nerdy crush on Chris Evans.   A year ago I even wrote a post on this website as well as TheCubicleEscapee.com  about the development of this crush. These posts stated that this nerdy crush stemmed from his beautiful body that teased me relentlessly while watching "What's Your Number".  Seriously that much sexiness must be illegal somewhere right?

So I believe the assumption could be made that my nerdy crush stemmed from that hot body and that ridiculous jaw line that you just want to well... you know.   I swear my mother raised a lady but that man makes me want to be no lady.

I must confess further that this little nerdy crush has grown at my job to where my co-workers send me daily images of Chris along with some catchy R rated blurb.

Today was a picture of him shirtless holding a towel while eating an apple (again a scene from What's Your Number) and the caption "Don't you just want to lick those abs?"

I won't bore you with the details of how that conversation  went as it is not very ladylike but it made me realize that my like for this man has grown, because I really believe he is a genuine great guy and not just acting like one ahem Steve Rogers I am looking at you.  I also think that Hollywood really needs men like Mr. Evans, because let's face it, there is a lot of garbage in Hollywood that sadly people idolize.

The media has a charming way of seeing an image and running with the story, or even making things up for a story... so I take any stories I read about a celeb with a grain of salt.  I am not a celeb by any stretch of the imagination and I have had rumors about me, so I typically will always give celebs the benefit of the doubt.

I felt the need to say that disclaimer because the media is the reason I like him that much more, but let's be honest the media reported the story because of Mr. Evan's actions.  His actions were good ones... my blabbering will make sense eventually... Hopefully.

So without further ado...  if you are looking for a reason to like Chris Evans read on...

1.  He escorted Betty White on stage

This was a moment that stole a lot of hearts and to be honest this would not be the last thing this man would do that would make a million woman sigh (including myself)

Ladies let's face the fact that if you are a 30 somethings we live in a day where we are lucky if a man holds the door for us, our father's day of chivalry is dead....  with the exception of Chris Evans.  He jumped up and helped her get on stage.  He is 33 and a true gentleman.  I really believe he did this because it was the right thing to do, not because  he wanted to "gain anything from it" Cue sigh
now oh to be Betty White.

2. His quotes are HILARIOUS and deep

Let;s talk hypothetically here.  Say you have a job that sucks, and you wanted to escape for a brief moment so hypothetically you type "Chris Evans" into google.  What would you find?  Well hypothetical speaking you would find a lot of articles and images and those articles often have quotes.

So hypothetically, here are a few quotes you might find that Chris said...

I always say that the times in my life when I've been happiest are the times when I've seen, like, a sunset.
I like girls who are self-deprecating. I like girls who make fun of themselves. If you can't poke fun at yourself, what are you? I just want someone with a good soul. That's about it. The rest I'm really flexible on

I like wet hair and sweatpants. I like sneakers and ponytails.

And just so we are clear I am NO longer talking hypothetically... I totally have a pony tail right now & I totally dig wearing sweat pants...and Mr. Evans I love sunsets too... Just saying if you ever happen to read this... You can totally email me.  ;)

3.  He takes his BEST friend to the Oscars, and then gets friend zoned by her then the both laugh it off.

I was on twitter when people started to tweet that Chris had arrived at the Oscars with a "mystery girl"  and it started escalating quickly.  Then it was time for his interview and probably one of the most hilarious moments happened.... Robin Robert's assumes she is his girlfriend... and then according to the media he immediately friend zones her...

But everyone, watch the video, she speaks first.   Who friend zoned who first is not really the point here, the point is he TOOK HIS BEST FRIEND to the Oscars.

I am totally feeling ripped off that I don't have any famous best friends.  Seriously but if you are needing a reason clearly he values friendship, and that is saying a lot.

Now I could write on and on as to why you should like Chris Evans but I am going to share one last moment with you that made me smile, and realize that yeah, this guy is the real deal.

4.

This photo needs no explanation but I will give a quick one anyway, look at that little girls face and look at his.  No captain is needed and no explanation or confirmation should be needed as to why you should love Chris Evans.

All I have to say who ever ends up with this man better be worth it, cause he is one hell of a catch.

We are back

Soooooooooooooooooo Admirer's

Ashley and I have been away which believe me has made us very sad too, but we are back and we are back with a a lot of stalking twisted admiration stories. We will not let you down this year and with con season fast approaching I am sure we will have plenty of stories coming soon!

I know personally in one week I will be at the Walker Stalker Con and I personally can't wait to meet Emma Bell, now she didn't last very long on the Walking Dead but she sure was a B in charge on Dallas. (holy hell cliffhanger, that will NEVER be resolved) anyway I am super stoked to meet her and I can't wait to see who else I will be able to stalk.

But come on, I am at con can we really call it stalking?  Stay tuned peeps because I promise I will have the 4-1-1 for you, You want me to ask Emma Bell a question? Shoot them my way because believe me I am going to see if she happens to know if Christian survived or not... this is some serious need to know.  How can you find out JR has another child and blow up a Ewing and not finish it??? TOTAL BS.   #RENEWDallas please take a moment and tweet this.

Done?  ok.

Anyway before I have a total fangirl melt down let's move on to the next con currently on my schedule.

Dallas Comic Con.

You didn't think I would miss it this year did you?

This is not until May 29th and I am planning on attending all three days to get all the stalker gossip for you.  I am a firm believer in helping the nerds out!

The guest list is already looking pretty amazing and I know I have Stan Lee, Laura Vandervoort (met her once but I just have to know if Greyston Holt is that beautiful in person) and I am also looking forward to  meeting Carrie Fisher.  In fact Carrie might make me a little star struck.  We will see.

So three stars already on my list and this is just the first round of announcements!!!  Dallas con is obviously going to be a pretty awesome this year and I can't wait to get my picture taken with Adam West in my Poison Ivy costume, don't worry nerds I will totally share my cosplay with you!

What cons are on your schedule this year??? Who are you hoping to meet in 2015?

Personally I am still holding out for my Chris's... Evans and Hemsworth... a nerd can hope right?

Well ladies... and gents,  Feel free to comment below & share who you want to meet in 2015... We love hearing from fellow stalkers

XOXO
Jen
